Apparently Siena is such a quiet town that a guide book talked about this specific statue. Which guidebook, I may have to ask, but I think the glowing virgin is a pretty huge deal, right up there with the train station/mall we found. A friend asked the front desk of our hotel if there were any places to go dancing, and the answer was somewhere along the lines of, "that doesn't happen here."
